We’re going to take a day off of Banned Book Week for Check this out.
So, if you like procrastinating as much as I do, and I really do, here’s a fun time waster that might also help your writing. It’s called The Word Diet.
Here’s the way it works. You past up to 1,000 words in the test, and it will scan it to see how thin or fat your language is. It counts your verbs, nouns, adjectives, and use of words like it, is, that and there, which it defines as waste words.
This is a tool I actually use when I’m writing Flash Fiction, because I want to get the most out of each of my 500 words.
So, if you’re looking for something fun online that will help tighten your fiction, check out Writers Diet.
By the way, I scanned this post before I put it up, and it was rated as flabby. Too many waste words, the potato chips of prose.
