Modern Mrs. Darcy, a really cool site for parenting, homemaking and literature, does something every month called http://modernmrsdarcy.com/tag/twitterature Twitterature. She posts a quick review of what she’s currently reading, and encourages others to do the same. So, here’s what I’m reading right now.
I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings, by Maya Angelou
If you haven’t read this, do it now. It’s about the poet Laurette’s childhood growing up in a very secular, very deep south. Her parents were split up, so she and her brother were raised largely by their paternal grandmother, a woman who is now my hero. The book ends abruptly the moment her childhood does, with an ending that I won’t give away, but it really stuck with me.
