Writing Prompt Saterday: Write an Epigram

Quite possibly my favorite form of poetry is an epigram. You probably see them all the time, but don’t often recognize them for what they are.

An Epigram is like a couplet, in that it’s usually only two to four lines. The difference is that it’s supposed to be satirical. Here’s one I wrote.

Afghanistan interpreters who risk their lives
treated like less than a donkey, to their surprise

If you can’t tell, the plight of people from Afghanistan who help our soldiers by volunteering as interpreters is kind of a sore subject for me. If you want to help, there’s a kickstarter here that you can donate to.
