I can’t wait for you to experience the second season of a podcast that goes so above and beyond what I thought I could ever accomplish. It’s a story about a lost woman who finds a place among a community that’s not her own, but becomes her own. It’s about people who feel like they have to hid in plain sight.
It’s also about a town that’s full of dark and dangerous things. Creatures dwell in grocery store basements. Shadows follow children home. And woods full of monsters move to places they shouldn’t have been.
I also want to take some time here to thank all of the amazing talented actors who participated in bringing AA to life. Their voice acting is exceptional. I cannot thank them enough for the time they took to bring these characters to life.
Please let me know on Instagram, Thredd and Mastadon what you think of the second season of AA. I’m so excited to share this story that means so much of me with all of you.
You’ve been waiting for it. You might have seen me tease it on social media. And it’s finally here.
Season two of AA is coming to Haunted MTL on August 15th.
The community is still adjusting to the hesitant alliance with the Men in Grey. Just in time, as a new Avemvir named Kestrel has just arrived in Peach Springs.
Her arrival heralds strange and unexplainable things. Sentient, malicious windstorms kill children in their backyards. Woods move across town on their own. A shadowy figure follows two girls home. And poisoned Halloween candy makes its way into an unsuspecting bowl.
Stevie, Josey and Heather will need all the friends they can get. But the MIG aren’t what they let on to be. They aren’t even what their own agents believe them to be.
I’m thrilled to be able to (finally) bring another season of AA to you all. And I want to thank you for your patience. It takes a long time to produce a podcast like this. As well as a lot of patience and learning on the fly. I think the story is worth it. And I truly hope that you do too.
As you might have noticed, we’re more than halfway through 2021. And I, gasp, haven’t launched a book yet.
For those of you keeping track, I’ve launched a book every year for the past five years. Often, more than one.
Well, I have some bad news and some good news, you guys. The bad news is, I’m not launching a book in 2021.
The good news is, I’m launching a podcast instead. The even better news? It’s based on my most popular short story ever.
You guys, Haunted MTL is launching a podcast that I wrote called AA on September second.
Yeah, that’s happening.
When Josey moves to a new town, she finds that she can’t escape her demons. She needs a meeting. But the one she finds isn’t the one she was looking for.
She discovers a community of aliens, hiding in plain sight. Josey is thankful to find a group of people who accept her, including a new roommate and a cute guy.
But the community isn’t without its darkness. And they have their enemies. Josey soon finds herself caught in a war that she barely understands, but can’t help but join.
During this war, Josey learns that the alien community is hardly the only thing unexpected in her new home. She stumbles into one dark place after another, realizing that small towns hold more secrets than outsiders could ever imagine.
I originally published AA as a standalone short story with Solstice Publishing. And I’m pretty proud to say it had a good reception. I even had one delightful commenter on Amazon say they thought this would be a great tv series. I don’t know who this person is, but I will love them for the rest of my life. And yes, this did inspire this idea.
AA includes some amazing voice talent. I play a few characters, of course. But you’ll also hear the voice of my talented and amazing co-star of Off The Bone, J.M. Brannyk.
Along with us, you’ll hear Jim Phonix, Ev, Jennifer Weigel, and Kal Scarlett. This is such an awesome group of voice actors that I was blessed to work with. They’re also great writers, artists, and critics who share amazing content every day on Haunted MTL.
AA is creepy fun. It’s about addiction. It’s about being new in a small town. It’s about the dark shadows in hometowns that we all know but don’t talk about. It’s about all of those things and more, and I think you’re going to love it.
Stay tuned for more info as we get closer to the release date. I can’t wait to introduce you all to the world of AA.
Podcasts are a pretty big deal for me. My hands are often busy, my eyes even more so. So podcasts are my default form of entertainment.
Another default entertainment for me is true crime. I have no idea why this fascinates me so, but it does.
So this shouldn’t come as a shock.
I’m launching a true-crime podcast with J.M. Brannyk called Off The Bone.
It’s true crime with a twist. Every week we’ll talk about a murder or unsolved mystery. Then, we’ll talk about the fiction that this horror-inspired.
In the first season, we’ll be talking about people like HH Holms, Elizabeth Bathory, The Axeman of New Orleans and the horrific Keddie Cabin murders, just to name a few.
As a word of warning, this show is not for the faint of heart. We are talking about gruesome deaths, murder and torture. There will be swearing and drinking.
JM is amazing if you’re not familiar with them. They’re hilarious, smart, and this never would have happened without them.
The first episode will be available on Haunted MTL on February first. But you can check out a pilot right now by clicking here.
I can’t wait to share this spooky, gory podcast with all of you. See you then.
